When less becomes more

04/28/2022

Minimalism is a state of mind. It’s a lot less about what you own and more about what you think. Minimalism for me has meant learning that sweet spot between ‘too much and just enough. It’s a fresh line and one that is constantly evolving for that matter.

It has meant being brave enough to let go

And letting go isn’t easy.

It is soul work because it requires unraveling.

Letting go is difficult- especially so because it forces us to ask ourselves this question: Who am I without my stuff?

It’s hard because it challenges the strength of these stories that are woven together through the passing of time.

Are we really all that smart, funny, creative, powerful, cultured, or any of these multitudes of things that we aspire to be if we don’t have all these tangibles to back it up as proof?

Baby steps; building up momentum. It’s in the realization that I don’t have to do it all at once but in fragments.

There is brevity and joy in giving yourself the gift of being intentional. It’s realizing that there is great courage in letting go of the things that we don’t want,  in order to welcome the things that we do.
